Island Democrats set presidential caucuses

Island County Democrats will hold its 2012 Democratic Presidential Caucuses on Sunday, April 15, from 1 to 2 p.m.

The caucuses will be held at three locations on Whidbey Island, depending on the school district in which a voter lives. Voters in the Oak Harbor School District will caucus at North Whidbey Middle School; voters in the Coupeville School District will caucus at Coupeville Middle/High School; and voters in the South Whidbey School District will caucus at Langley Middle School.

Voters may also determine their caucus location at www.wa-democrats.org/caucuses.

Voters attending the caucuses will vote for their preferred presidential candidate  and then will elect delegates to attend the Island County Democratic Convention, which will be held on Sunday, April 29 at South Whidbey High School. Caucus voters will also have an opportunity to submit resolutions for the State Democratic Platform, which resolutions will also be voted on at the convention on April 29.
