Oak Harbor School Board takes on athletics

The Oak Harbor School Board will hold a public forum about athletics and after-school activities Monday, Dec. 12 at 6:30 p.m. at the district office.

Sports and activities, such as band and choir performances, debate, clubs and the after-school late bus are all funded through federal Impact Aid, which has declined over the last few years, with another reduction of $500,000 projected this year. The school board is looking for a permanent solution for funding activities that might reverse the cutbacks adopted over the last three years
