Unregistered sex offender nabbed

A child molester was recently sent to prison after investigators discovered he was living in Oak Harbor without registering as a sex offender.

Glen Bill, a Spokane resident, pleaded guilty in Island County Superior Court Nov. 7 to failure to register as a sex offender.

Judge Vickie Churchill sentenced Bill to one year and five months in prison.

An officer with the Department of Corrections arrested Bill for probation violations this summer. The officer discovered that Bill had been living with his girlfriend and her mother at a home on E. Whidbey Avenue in Oak Harbor and hadn’t registered as a sex offender with the Island County Sheriff’s Office.

Bill had been convicted of child molestation in the second degree in Stevens County in 2007. He was previously convicted of failing to register in Spokane County last year.

Bill had lived in Oak Harbor for a month, from June 27 to his arrest on July 30. Bill’s girlfriend reported that he drank daily, was in contact with many children and had stolen money, court documents state.
