Three people were killed and three others injured in a two-car collision north of Oak Harbor just before 9 p.m. Friday.
The State Patrol said a 1994 Chevrolet Blazer driven by Jordyn Weichert, 21, of Oak Harbor was heading north on Highway 20 just south of Monkey Hill Road when Weichert crossed the center line and hit a 2004 Subaru Outback driven by Brian R. Wood, 33, of North Vancouver, B.C.
Wood was killed in the crash.
His passenger, Erin E. Wood, 31, also of North Vancouver, B.C. was injured and taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
Two passengers in the Blazer were killed; Jacob D. Quistork, 25, and Frances C. Malloy, 26, both of Oak Harbor. A third passenger, Samantha R. Bowling, 22, of Oak Harbor, was also airlifted to Harborview.
Weichert, the driver of the Blazer, was taken to Whidbey General Hospital in Coupeville for treatment.
The State Patrol said the accident is under investigation, and drugs or alcohol may have been a factor.
Both vehicles were totaled, and have been taken to the Washington State Patrol office in Burlington.
