Oak Harbor standing committees suspended
Apr 05 2013, 3:48 PM Oak Harbor City Council is suspending its regular scheduled standing committee meetings for the next three months. Instead, the council will hold monthly workshops to discuss emerging issues, works in progress and pending action items. The decision was approved by unanimous vote during Tuesday’s regular council meeting. The workshops are scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. April 24 and May 22, both Wednesdays, and June 18, a Tuesday.

Apr 05 2013, 4:12 PM Gaston Ntambo, a missionary from the Democratic Republic of Congo, will give a presentation about his work 12-2 p.m. Friday, April 12 at the Coupeville United Methodist Church. Ntambo serves as pilot and mechanic with the Wings of the Morning Aviation Ministry, providing transportation in hard-to-reach areas of Africa, especially in emergency situations. The program will begin at noon with a bring-your-own lunch and informal discussion with Gaston. At 12:30, the missionary pilot will speak and show photos of his work with Wings of the Morning.
