Listening to the story of Christ is music to these ears | Faithful Living
Feb 22 2013, 4:14 PM As we progress through the season of Lent my husband and I, along with members of our Life Group who meet weekly, continue to study The Messiah. Much of the music is proving to be astoundingly beautiful and my affection grows for the entire work. Like other music selections often do when the melody and lyrics unite in near perfection, I thrill to “hear” the music each time I wake briefly here and there during the night or as I go about my day and there is a lull.

Marine life didn’t do anything wrong | Letters
Feb 22 2013, 4:06 PM Don’t forget that the animals at the marina are beautiful wild animals. That is, what I thought was one of the perks of living on Whidbey Island. If the poo is that big of a problem, instead of killing or removing the wild animals, raise the moorage fees, use sea water and hire someone to remove the waste two or three times a day. When my family visits from Seattle they are always amazed at the wildlife we enjoy on Whidbey Island, from the eagles, hawks, otters, seals and the dolphins they see on the ferry crossing.
Dump truck accident causes backup at Deception Pass
Feb 26 2013, 3:35 PM A dump truck accident at Deception Pass Bridge caused traffic to back up for miles Thursday. Trooper Mark Francis with the Washington State Patrol said a 58-year-old Everson man was driving a dump truck north on Highway 20 and had just crossed over the bridge when he lost control of the truck. According to Francis, the man said he reached out for his coffee and the truck swerved to the right. The man overcorrected, driving the truck across the oncoming land and into the log rails that keep cars from plunging down the cliffs at Deception Pass.
