The Whidbey Audubon Society offers a chance to not only see the beauty of Whidbey, but to take a closer look and help bird species during its annual North Whidbey Christmas Bird Count Saturday, Dec. 22.

When the opportunity to receive $21,800 for public art at Oak Harbor High School arose, one Oak Harbor artist and former teacher is determined to get that funding.
