I couldn’t believe what I read (News-Times, Sept. 3) about what Whidbey General Hospital is trying to do to Dr. Zaveruha!

I did not know Dr. Z was running for a position on the hospital board, but now that I know I will vote for him for sure!

Dr. Paul Zaveruha is a wonderful doctor as well as a very caring and nice person! All of the hospital staff and everyone who knows him knows that he would never do the things they say he might do if elected! So what is Scott Rhine and the board afraid of? Dr. Z is an honest person! Maybe that’s the problem? Maybe the whole board should resign?

I don’t usually get involved in these conflicts, but in this case I had to speak up! It’s a clean case of threats — you do this or we’ll do that!”

I know I’m not the only person who feels this way about Dr. Zaveruha! Whidbey Island is blessed to have a doctor like Dr. Z as director of Emergency Services, so let’s show Dr. Z how much we appreciate all he does for the people on Whidbey Island and Whidbey General Hospital by voting for him in the November election! I know he’ll do a good job!

By the way, my husband and I have received great care at Whidbey General Hospital over the years and we are grateful for that, but I disagree on the way they are treating Dr. Zaveruha.
