Peggy Whitford, president of Island Thrift, recently presented $10,000 checks to Boys and Girls Club of Oak Harbor and Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Island County. Each check was presented after the two organizations had successful fundraising events. Big Brothers/Big Sisters held their annual Festival of Trees Gala in December and Boys and Girls Club held their annual Bid for Kids Garden Auction in March. Both clubs provide needed services to the youth of our community. Island Thrift provides grants to non-profit organizations in our community from the proceeds of sales at the thrift store located at 600 SE Barrington. Island Thrift accepts donations and welcomes you to shop at the “Store with the Big Heart” and support needed programs in our community.
