Tickets for sale for Soroptimists’ first awards banquet in Oak Harbor

Soroptimist International of Oak Harbor is holding its first annual awards banquet from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, May 3 at the CPO Club ballroom on Ault Field Road.

Celebrate the growth of Soroptimists’ 2012 awards and scholarship winners.

A no-host social begins at 5:30 p.m. with dinner at 6:15 p.m. Tickets are $25 and include dinner.

The program will feature recipients of five awards and scholarships that Soroptimist International of Oak Harbor gives to deserving women each year.  These women will share their stories of triumph through adversity, as well as how these awards will change their lives and the lives of individuals in the community.

The event also features two of the past award winners. Guests will be inspired as they hear how receiving an award from the club has helped their path to education so that they might achieve their dreams.

Soroptimist International of Oak Harbor is dedicated to improving the lives of women and girls throughout the world and within the community. Winners of these awards are not just given a check and allowed to fade into the distance. Soroptimist continues to offer them support and ongoing encouragement through their mentoring program, which strives to provide helpful resources and ongoing encouragement while they continue their journey to a healthy and successful personal and professional life.

Guests may further support the awards and scholarship programs with a Fund-A-Need portion of the evening. All donations are tax deductible.

Tickets can be purchased by contacting Paige at 360-632-4681 or sioakharbor@soroptimist.net.
