Music as a spiritual experience

February 4, 2012 · Updated 5:38 AM

"Music expresses that which cannot be said and on which it is impossible to be silent,” wrote Victor Hugo. Because of this paradox, music can be a spiritual experience. Rev. Ketcham will speak about it Sunday, Feb. 5, at 10 a.m. at the Whidbey Universal Universalist Congregation, 20103 Highway 525. Check www.whidbey.com/uucwi.

The congregations monthly Evesong will be Wednesday, Feb. 8 at 7:30 p.m. This quiet, contemplative candlelight evening service features the poetry of Mary Oliver, accompanied by harp music.
