Whidbey Island Prayer Day activities set

A Martin Luther hymn title, “A Mighty Fortress is Our God,” is the theme of the 60th annual observance of the National Day of Prayer to be held Thursday, May 5. Events are as follows:

Concordia Lutheran Church, 590 N. Oak Harbor Rd., Oak Harbor, prayer and service at 10 a.m.

Community Prayer Rally, Island County Courthouse, Seventh St., Coupeville, 12:15 to 1 p.m.

Community Prayer Rally, Windjammer Park Gazebo, Oak Harbor, 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. People need to bring lawn chairs.
