Easter church celebrations

Get up with the sun on Easter Sunday

The Oak Harbor Kiwanis Club invites the community to its 21st annual Easter Sunrise Service at 7 a.m. on April 24 in Windjammer Park near the windmill. The speaker this year will be Don Jaques, pastor of Christ King Church, with special music by Lance Gibbon. A freewill offering will be taken for the benefit of the local Help House. In case of inclement weather, the location will be moved to the First United Methodist Church at 105 SE Ireland St.

Easter sunrise at Sunnyside Cemetery

The Coupeville United Methodist Church invites the community to services throughout the Easter season. Sunrise service will be held at the beautiful Sunnyside Cemetery overlooking Ebey’s Prairie and Puget Sound at 7:30 a.m. on Easter Sunday, April 24, followed by a complimentary breakfast at the church. Church of Christ celebrates Easter

Oak Harbor Church of Christ, 1000 NE Koetje St., invites everyone to a very special Easter celebration on April 24. Joe Cook will be preaching about Jesus’ last week on earth before he was crucified. Easter services feature cantata

Oak Harbor First United Methodist Church, 1050 SE Ireland St. will hold its Easter Sunday worship services April 24 at 8:30 and 10 a.m., each  including a special easter Cantata, “One Sacrifice” by the Chancel Choir.  All are welcome. Contact 675-2441 or www.oakharborfumc.org.

Nazarene makes its Easter plans

Oak Harbor Church of the Nazarene, 1100 West Whidbey Avenue, announces its Easter brunch April 24 at 9:30 a.m.; followed by an Easter celebration at 10:30 a.m. An egg hunt will follow the celebration service. Call 675-0705.

Grace Orthodox hosts breakfast

Sovereign Grace Orthodox Presbyterian Church will be hosting an Easter morning breakfast Sunday, April 24, at 9 a.m. The delicious breakfast will be followed by our Easter morning worship service which begins at 10:30 a.m. Sovereign Grace OPC meets at the Seventh Day Adventist Church building located at 31830 SR 20, Oak Harbor..

Universalists look at Easter

A Universalist’s perspective on Easter Universalism is the doctrine of universal salvation; the belief that a loving God will grant salvation to all. This Easter Rev. Kit Ketcham will celebrate the idea of universal love and its healing message for humankind. All are welcome at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation, 20103 Highway 525 north of Freeland. Concordia Lutheran’s Easter plans

Concordia Lutheran Church (Lutheran Church Missouri Synod) 590 N. Oak Harbor Rd., Oak Harbor, hosts its annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 23, at 11 a.m. Bring the kids, toddlers through pre-teens.

There will be an Easter Saturday  vigil at 8 p.m., and an Easter Sunday celebration, April 24, begins with breakfast from 8:30 to 10 a.m., followed by worship at 10 a.m. Call 675-2548 or email concordiastaff@frontier.com.
