VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR SALLY FOX was honored upon her retirement at the Whidbey General Hospital managers’ meeting on Tuesday, March 22. Fox’s 120-strong volunteer force is a daily presence at the hospital. She reached out to the schools in the community, built relationships and found creative ways to encourage a new generation of healthcare workers. Her last official act was to introduce the new volunteer coordinator, Nancy Bailey of Coupeville.

Students from Northwestern College in Orange City, Iowa, spent spring break working on community service projects. JENNIFER JANSEN, a sophomore from Oak Harbor majoring in elementary education, helped in Jonesboro, Ark.
