Senior Services of Island County needs sale items
March 25, 2011 · Updated 1:38 PM
Senior Services of Island County is soliciting donations of usable items for a sale on Saturday, April 23, at the Senior Services Center. The purpose is to replace funding losses for the current budget year. The organization hopes to raise $5,000.
The Senior Services nutrition program served more than 86,000 meals last year at six meal sites in the county. About 31,000 meals were delivered to house-bound or other fragile senior adults. Many beneficiaries of the program are able to stay in their homes, or stay in their homes longer, with the nutritional support.
Books, household items, gifts and clothing will be featured along with an antique and collectibles section. Donations can be made at the Bayview Senior Center at 14594 Highway 525 across from the Bayview Park and Ride or call 360-321-1600.
