Hair Happenings is collecting 1,005 pairs of socks at sylviaschildren.org for a Mbiriizi Primary School and Orphanage in Masaka, Uganda. Many of the children are AIDS orphans. Socks will be sent to Sylvia by Nov. 7 for her to take to Mbiriizi for their Christmas party.

Six or 12 packs can be broken up. Sizes needed are: small, 3 years to preschool ( 400 pairs); medium, 2nd to 4th grade (350 to 400 pairs); and large, 5th to 7th grade (250 pairs).

Monetary donations also may be made towards purchasing socks and are always welcome at www.sylvias

children.org. Call Kim at 279-0742 for information or drop off socks at 285 NE Midway Blvd., Suite 1, Oak Harbor.
