Oak Harbor Poetry Project launches Sunday at library

Aaron John Marek is first featured poet and reader

Aaron John Marek is the featured reader at the first Oak Harbor Poetry Project meeting, 3-4:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 15 at Oak Harbor Public Library.

Poets are invited to read during the meeting’s All Island Open Mic. Marek’s unique experiences as a military color guard, funeral director and deputy coroner give him a unique perspective on the world and the meaning of life.

The Oak Harbor Poetry Project was recently launched by Marek, Daniel Edward Moore and Laura Coe Moore. It plans to meet on the third Sunday every month at Oak Harbor Library for the open mic session and featured reader.
