Notable: Islanders make provost’s honor roll at Whitworth

ELLIE WILLIAM-SON, of Oak Harbor, and LYDIA PIERSON, of Langley, were named to the Whitworth University provost’s honor roll for fall semester 2016.

The students qualified for the academic honor society by maintaining a grade-point average of at least 3.75 during the semester.

Located in Spokane, Whitworth is a private, liberal arts university affiliated with the Presbyterian church.

The university has an enrollment of nearly 3,000 students

The Greenbank Trading Post is full of collectibles for all tastes. Anthony Gatto turned the old family barn with items from estate sales over the past two decades. Years ago, his store was one of 13 such stores along Whidbey’s main route but many have closed. His mother, RuthAnne Gatto, also helps out in the store, which got its beginnings as a olace to sell her homemade crafts.
