Software success should mean closing OLF

Editor,

I’m very glad that the “magic carpet” software is working so well that it will substantially reduce the need for training of Field Carrier Landing Practice.

Now that this pressing training need for pilot safety is reduced, how about just closing the OLF, saving the money used to fly to Coupeville as well as giving our crews more quality time with their families?

No one can argue with that. A win-win. These were the reasons used for moving Eastern Washington training to the Olympic Peninsula, and they sure apply here.
