This November you a definite choice as you vote for a senator to represent you in Olympia.
Regarding Ed Hickey’s climate denialist Sept. 21 letter to the editor, sorry but your arguments are not facts. They are discredited talking points right out of the industry’s handbook, all refuted long ago.
Using facts, not fiction or unfounded accusations, I want to express my support for Angie Homola for state Senate in the 10th District. Angie’s qualifications have been thoroughly vetted by others, so I’ll focus on why she is more aligned with my beliefs and values than her opponent, Sen. Barbara Bailey.
On the Island County Board of Commissioners, Angie Homola was out of control with our tax dollars. She spent her time protecting bureaucracy and friends, while cutting funding for sheriff’s deputies and pursuing tax increases.
I have never been one to write letters to the editor but, being 76, I feel it’s time to start. As a Whidbey Islander for 45 years, I watched many elected officials come and go.
I just have to weigh in on the Wellness Center project. I have gotten over the fact the word “hospital” has gone the way of the buggy whip, and that we didn’t get the more sustainable solar panels promised when we voted for the “hospital” bond, but what happened to our pride from being at the center of a national reserve, and where is the pride that we are held to a higher standard.
The disgraceful display of multi-millionaire football players kneeling during our national anthem on the anniversary of the 9/11 anniversary changed that. It might be “free speech” to disrespect our flag, but my free speech allows me to write this and to turn off my TV set.
