Local efforts at Lone Lake are great, those of the state are not

Editor,

Cheers to the fishing clubs and bowhunters trying to improve the conditions of Lone Lake. Anything that can be done to improve plant growth, and thus oxygen levels will prevent die off from ever happening again.

The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife said in last year’s die off article “that it happens all the time.”

I have fished Lone lake regularly for almost 30 years and have never seen a single die off event… until last year.

And where is the WDFW in all this? Probably eating doughnuts somewhere and completely wasting our license money.

They’ve about managed our salmon to extinction, always blaming some ethereal “other” (like ocean conditions) for just bad management.

They ought to rename the whole department something like the Washington Department of Fishing Idiots.
