Letter: WhidbeyHealth provided ‘expert,’ ‘loving’ care during stay

Editor,

I recently met some of the most wonderful folks I have ever known right here in Coupeville and under deadly circumstances.

And, as a retired journalist and retired university administrator, I have certainly met many fine persons.

Several days ago I was rushed to WhidbeyHealth emergency with a critical case of advanced sepsis, then admitted to a single patient room in the hospital.

That is where, for five days, I met and was lovingly cared for by several smart and dedicated nurses and CNAs who lifted my spirits to a point that I could believe I would survive this health emergency.

I will never forget — and hope to meet again — Femi, Renee, Tiffany, Samantha, Amethyst, Jodi, Shayla, Jessica and Angie.

We watch and I’ve reported about international and national life and death controversies, as well as local city hall boondoggles — even local medical debates.

But the folks listed here rise above all of that — at least in my situation— and I owe my medical and emotional health to their loving and and expert care.
