Letter: Rick Felici is the most qualified

Editor,

We would encourage everyone to cast their vote for Rick Felici for Island County sheriff. By far, Rick is the most qualified candidate. His long record of impeccable service to Island County speaks volumes compared to the other candidate who has never risen above the rank of deputy and has no experience in leadership or management. You don’t rise straight from the bottom up but work your way up, and Rick Felici has done just that.

Rick has served us as patrol deputy, patrol sergeant, major crimes detective, detective sergeant and currently is second in command of the sheriff’s office as chief criminal deputy.

Highlights of his experience include that of budgeting, hiring, training, labor rights and risk management.

And, while his signs may not have our flag waving in the wind, he served our country and our flag with his military service.

While the other candidate has tunnel vision and appears concerned mainly with one issue, Rick has a well rounded understanding of all of the issues we face here and we have no doubt he will deal with each one fairly and honestly.

He has proven himself to be of good character and a man of integrity time and again in his long career.

He deserves our vote. Stick with Rick.
