Letter: Progressives raising money to repair storm damage

Editor,

Many people who have been in, or rented, the Greenbank Clubhouse, are asking me when they will be able to use it again.

A huge tree fell into the clubhouse during the windstorm of December 2018. Insurance covers the structural damage, but we are reaching out to the community for help. We need to cover the cost of tree removal, our insurance deductible and a much needed upgrade to our kitchen.

We are asking for the community to help by going to gofundme.com/greenbank-clubhouse to make a donation.

The clubhouse has been a community gathering place since 1949, when it was completed. The Progressive Club started in September 1920 and will celebrate its 100th year in 2020.

The Greenbank Garden Club, Coupeville Lions and other groups helped with costs of construction and constructing the original building.

The Greenbank Garden Club continues with care and maintenance of the gardens. We serve the community by managing and maintaining the building.

Your donation toward our goals is greatly appreciated.

Your donation can be made at Gofundme or by check, mailed to Greenbank Progressive Club, P.O. Box 52, Greenbank, WA 98253

Thank you, and we really appreciate your donation.

Carolyn Mercer
