Letter: Oak Harbor Key Club’s Trivia Night is nearing

Editor,

I am writing this letter in regards to our First Annual Oak Harbor Key Club Trivia Night. This fundraiser will be a contest between six nonprofit service organizations in Oak Harbor in order to determine which service club can brag about having the smartest members in Oak Harbor.

This should be a fun, community-building event for a good cause. I can ensure you that your money will be put to good use in funding service projects as well as our trip to our district convention in Seattle in March.

Service projects we do in the community include the no-sew blankets for Seattle Children’s Hospital, trick-or-treat for UNICEF, and our pasta and rice drive for Help House, just to name a few.

However, we would like to spend more of our time doing service projects and less time trying to fund them.

That is why, in order to participate, we are asking each club presenting a team to make a $400 donation. Each team must have four players and must be prepared to answer questions on topics such as history, science, geography and more.

We truly appreciate your consideration and hope that you participate in our trivia night. As leaders of our community, your clubs’ service to Oak Harbor is much appreciated and is a model to all of us in Oak Harbor Key Club.

Treasurer Oak Harbor Key Club
