Letter: Filing lawsuits over jet noise isn’t a good idea

Editor,

I am so sorry to sound like a one-string guitar, but I have never heard so many complaints against our military fly boys.

I do not think putting up lawsuits is a good idea.

You wanna have it go away? Call Trump and tell him to spend his wall money on some new bases, fix the damaged ones and make sure he puts them where they can get back to the ships they have to get on.

But, for now, this is what they have, and when you people moved into that area you knew these flights would go on. Why continue to complain?

Yes, jets are noisy but do folks scream and yell when the fliers have to go put their lives on the line to keep us safe here at home?

No, they do not and they have been doing it for years.

I say until they get a better place to go, leave them alone; they have enough to think about up there than being noisy.

Yes, the new aircraft are loud, but they are new and we need new and better equipment for them — or would you all prefer to send them out in the old ones that just keep adding up the hours and getting patched up until they crash. Is that what you want?

Maybe we should just try to see it their way; ask them to cut the flights at 9 p.m. That should be doable. Has anyone asked?

No, I do not live there, so I do not deal with the noise, but I understand what they go through.

Please, let’s give them a break and remember, it is the sound of freedom, and freedom is not free.
