The University of Minnesota’s Morris Concert Choir, under the direction of Dr. Kenneth Hodgson, will perform Saturday, March 20, at 7 p.m. at Oak Harbor Lutheran Church, 1253 NW Second Ave., Oak Harbor, across from the Oak Harbor High School Stadium. The concert is part of the choir’s 2010 West Coast Concert Tour.

The first portion of the concert will include works by Palestrina, Bach and F. Melius Christiansen, and Olaf Christensen, while the second half features more contemporary pieces and closes with a group of spirituals, love song, and folk songs. The 63-voiced choir is noted for its professionalism and enthusiasm in performance. The choir has toured widely throughout the Midwest, the East and West coasts, as well as Canada, Norway, Sweden, East and West Germany (before their unification), England, Scotland and Wales. This year’s tour includes concerts along the West Coast in California, Oregon and Washington.

Don’t miss this opportunity to hear the University of Minnesota’s Morris Concert Choir. An offering will be taken. For information contact Lynne Ogren at Oak Harbor Lutheran Church, 679-1561, or email at lynne@oakharborlutheran.org.
