Buy your Big Brothers Big Sisters Golf Ball Drop tickets this month for your chance to win $1,000.

During the event on Aug. 29, thousands of golf balls will be scattered on a target on the golf course at the Useless Bay Golf & Country Club. The ball that lands closest to the target is the winning ball and its owner will walk away with $1,000 in cash.

You could be a winner if you buy one of the raffle tickets for the event. Tickets are $5 and you don’t have to be present to win.

Big Brothers Big Sisters volunteers will sell tickets from 10 a.m. to noon at the Bayview Farmers Markets. Also look for Big Brothers Big Sisters signs at the Tilth market and the Oak Harbor farmers markets. Volunteers will also sell tickets at Choochokam Arts festival July 11 and 12, as well as at the Clinton and Keystone ferry terminals from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on July 25.

Tickets are also on sale at the Big Brothers Big Sisters office at South Whidbey High School in Langley and the Oak Harbor office at 913. E. Whidbey Ave.

The funds raised will support Big Brothers Big Sisters of Island County’s mission to match children with mentors from the community.
