Auditions are by appointment

Whidbey Playhouse is announcing Auditions for “Oklahoma!” March 9-10 at 5 p.m.

Performances of “Oklahoma” will be June 6 through June 30.

There will be lead roles for three women and four men, featured roles for one woman and two men. There are also small solos and speaking parts for the dancing singing chorus.

Dancers please note: The role of Dream Laurey has been cast, but there are plenty of opportunities for dancers.

To audition, come prepared with one verse from a Broadway style song, and a one- to two-minute comedic monologue. Bring sheet music for the accompanist — there will be no a cappella or tape/CD accompaniment. Please have your song and monologue memorized. Those auditioning for just the chorus need not have theirs memorized. Chorus need not read, if not interested in a speaking part.

Come prepared to learn a short and fun dance routine, dress comfortably. Enthusiasm counts.

Audition is by appointment, and you should plan to spend at least an hour at the theater. Walk-ins will be seen if and when time is available.

For appointments please call Janis Powell at 679-2237.
