Seabolts Smoke House has been smoking, packaging and selling Pacific and Puget Sound salmon for 20 years from its North Whidbey locale. Current owners Charisse and Vint Waldron use salmon that Vint catches from his own fishing boat, along with some thats purchased from Washington and Alaska fishermen. They both run the smoke house, and package their products in distinctive blue and silver boxes that are almost as pretty as the fish. Smoked salmon gift packages range from $29 to $47, and can be shipped anywhere in the world. The jerky business is run by North Whidbey resident Darin Beasley, and features jerky in a variety of delicious flavors. Mr. Beasleys can be reached at 679-2973.If you like to peruse gift shops until a potential present grabs your fancy, the Greenbank Farm gift shop is stocked with ideas. There are unique loganberry jams, jellies, syrups and ice cream toppings; deli items and dressings, such as the Whidbey vinaigrettes produced by Mutiny Bay Gourmet in Greenbank; wines from the Greenbank Farm line, including a loganberry, merlot and chardonnay, to name a few; and many other possibilities, from ready-made gift baskets to locally written island cookbooks.
