Whidbey Playhouse opens studio to performers

All performers can get ready for an evening of fellowship and sharing. Friday, July 27, the Whidbey Playhouse will host the Performance Society in the Star Studio.

The Performance Society is an open microphone forum. Performers sign up for five minutes of stage time on a first come first served basis.

The Performance Society is a fellowship for artists of all genres. Vocalists, musicians, dancers, poets, actors, comedians, magicians, jugglers and more are encouraged to sign up for their five minutes. Due to safety concerns, the Playhouse said they must draw the line on snakes and fire eaters.

The Performance Society starts signing up at 7 p.m. with time slots until 9 p.m. in the Star Studio.

There is no fee. There is a piano available, and a portable boom box. All performers are asked to stay to hear every performance.
