Get ready to celebrate everything Dutch in Oak Harbor

Oak Harbor will celebrate its unique Dutch heritage Friday, April 27 through Sunday, April 29.

The community has celebrated its heritage with a festival for 43 years.

This year, enjoy the parade at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 28 on Pioneer Way, accompanied by a street fair, which begins at 10 a.m. and goes through 7 p.m., and on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The family carnival on Bayshore Drive is open Friday through Sunday.

Children in kindergarten through eighth grade can design a poster for the Little Miss Dutch Maid and Little Dutch Boy Contest. Show what you like best about the Holland Happening Festival and win prizes, a spot in the parade and the title Little Miss Dutch Maid or Little Dutch Boy of Oak Harbor.

Entries are due by Friday, April 20 to the Oak Harbor Chamber of Commerce, located at 32630 Highway 20. Entry forms are available at
