The Oak Harbor High School Culinary team, four-time state champions and the 2010 national runner-up, is again preparing for the ProStart and SkillsUSA competitions with a fancy fundraising meal.

To practice and raise funds for the events, the culinary team will be cooking up a three-course gourmet meal Sunday, Feb. 26, beginning at 5 p.m. The meal service begins at 5:45 p.m. in the OHHS faculty lounge.

This year’s menu starts with an appetizer of maple glazed smoked sablefish, with bacon greens risotto and a ponzu dash broth. This is followed by flat iron steak two ways, turnip and potato pave with mushroom greens stuffed tomato, chimichuri hollandaise and beef reduction, and finished with a dessert of white chocolate goat cheese mousse, graham crumble and cranberry-strawberry compote.

Seating is limited. Tickets are $40 before Feb. 20 and $50 after Feb. 20. Email marthur@ohsd.net for reservations.
