Kerr to gallop into Ebey’s conference

“Galloping Gourmet” Graham Kerr will face local chefs, food experts and farmers in a cook-off challenge featuring Coupeville’s heirloom legume, the Rockwell Bean, as part of the upcoming Ebey’s Forever Conference on Saturday, Nov. 5.

Taste the creations containing this unique bean brought by an early pioneer and vote on your favorite.

Television’s popular Kerr will host the Taste of Ebey’s workshop.

This workshop is just one chance for conference goers to sample the flavors of Ebey’s Reserve. Tasting begins with a Celebrating Rural Character(s) Potluck on Friday, Nov. 4. The event is free but everyone is asked to bring a favorite dish. Live bluegrass and pioneer stories will round out the evening at the Crockett Barn near Coupeville.

During the conference, participants will enjoy locally grown meals, field trips and an Ebey’s Reserve Farmers Market and Closing Pie Social featuring prairie-made pie.

Space is limited so register now for the Nov. 4 to 5 event. Register at www.ebeysforever.com or call 678-6084.
