Join some energetic elders, Whidbey leprechauns and all sorts of green-clad folks in Oak Harbor’s tribute to its Irish heritage next Thursday.

The 38th annual St. Patrick’s Day parade will kick off at 4 p.m. at Jensen Street in Oak Harbor and will follow a route down Pioneer Way to Dock Street ending at the windmill in Windjammer Park for the kissing of the Blarney Stone.

This year’s grand marshal will be Mick Donahue, the executive vice president of Skagit Valley College.

Those who wish to walk in the procession need to call Dutch or Roby at 675-0235.

There will be prizes awarded for green attire and a community sing-a-long at the yacht club following the parade.
