The Whidbey Camano Land Trust announces monthly walking tours starting in January.

The Land Trust has been around for nearly 20 years working to protect more than 6,800 acres of upland and nearshore on Whidbey and Camano islands.

Some of the protected lands are accessible to the public.

To encourage more public use, the Land Trust will be hosting monthly walks. A volunteer will guide visitors through the property and answer questions.

Upcoming walks:

  • Saturday, Jan. 29, 10 a.m., the Trillium forest off Highway 525 north of Freeland.

  • Saturday, Feb. 26, 1 p.m., Del Fairfax Preserve, Oak Harbor.
