On Saturday, Dec. 4, from 3 to 5 p.m., Alimah Helming, headliner for the Evening in Marrakesh event, will be returning to Whidbey Island to present a very special workshop: “Beautiful Basics: Finesse from the First Steps,” to benefit the Whidbey Island Language Academy.

Using both correct body alignment and colorful imagery, Alimah will have you dancing from fingertip to toe, exploring exotic use of arms, hands, undulations, and shimmies. You will learn travel steps, small combinations and concepts to tie your new movements together.

All levels welcome. Cost: $35. For reservations contact 360-321-2101 or A Hafla and Middle-Eastern Potluck will start at 6 p.m. There is no fee to attend, but reservations are required.
