Equestrian training begins soon

Start your new year by volunteering with Equestrian Crossings, the island-wide riding, vaulting, leading, cart driving horse activities program for the whole family with certified instructors for those with special needs. To help you succeed, they’re offering several volunteer training dates before “EqX” lessons start in February.
Denise Boyett will conduct harness driving volunteer training at the Valley View arena at 5751 Maxwelton Rd., Langley, on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, Jan. 4, 6, 8, 11, 13 and 15 from 2 p.m. to dark, weather permitting.
Miriam Burk and Emily Brink will conduct riding and vaulting volunteer training at the Reinshadow Ridge arena at 752 Plantation Dr., Greenbank, on Thursdays, Jan. 7 and 14 from noon to 5 p.m.
Burke will also conduct riding and vaulting volunteer training at the Gravo arena, 2226 Hastie Lake Rd., Oak Harbor, on Fridays, Jan. 8 and 15 from noon to 5 p.m.
Volunteers should attend at least two training sessions for two hours each day. There is no experience necessary.
“EqX appreciates your time and dedication to this incredible new program with your familiar local experienced instructors,” said Boyett.
