Whidbey Island farmers who are interested in opening their farms to the public during the fourth annual Whidbey Island Farm Tour are invited to apply for participation.

Set for Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 3-4, the free, self-guided tour encourages awareness and support of local agriculture. The primary goals of the tour are to educate the community about our farms and farm stewardship practices, to promote the benefits of locally grown food, fiber and other products, and to help local farms in their sustainability, marketing and publicity efforts.

Applications are due March 6. Forms are available at Skagit Farmers Supply, Bayview Farm & Garden, the Whidbey Island Conservation District and the WSU Extension Office, or visit www.whidbeyfarmtour.com.

For more information, call 678-4708, 679-7328 or 321-5111, ext. 7328.
