In recognition of Healthy Heart Month, Whidbey General and Soroptimist International of Oak Harbor, Coupeville and South Whidbey are teaming up to provide a fun-filled and educational evening around American Heart Association’s “Go Red for Women” initiative.
The Red Dress Ball is an event to gain heart health wisdom while also raising money for the Heart of a Woman program.
Heart of a Woman provides free “Heartwise” screenings at Whidbey General for financially qualifying women on Whidbey Island.
The Red Dress Ball will be a no-host bar with heavy hors d’oeuvres set for 6 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2 at Useless Bay Golf and Country Club in Langley.
The guest speaker will be Linda Gipson, PhD, RN, Chief Nursing Officer for Whidbey General.
Gipson will present information on women and heart disease. After her presentation there will be dancing to the tunes of Mojo Filter.
The program is open to the public.
Tickets cost $50 and can be purchased in Oak Harbor at Hallmark or Casual House, in Coupeville at Whidbey Island Bank or Whidbey General Hospital Life Center, in Langley at Whidbey Island Bank or from any Soroptimist member.
