Habitat for Humanity offers Christmas tree disposal service Dec. 27-29

Habitat for Humanity of Island County and Pioneer Tree and Landscape Inc. are partnering to offer the community an option for disposing of Christmas trees.

From 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 27 through Saturday, Dec. 29, Habitat will be accepting Christmas trees for chipping in the parking lot of the Oak Harbor store, located at 350 SE Pioneer Way, or at the Habitat Store in Freeland, located at 1592 Main St.

Trees must be free of lights, ornaments and tinsel, as these items will break the chipper.

No flock trees will be accepted.

A minimum donation of $5 is suggested.

All proceeds will benefit local low-income families working with Habitat for Humanity of Island County to achieve affordable housing. For more information, call 360-679-9444 or contact volunteer@islandcountyhabitat.com, or visit www.islandcountyhabitat.org.
