Friends meet in Freeland | Religion Notes

Sunday is a good time to get together with friends.

The Whidbey Island Friends Meeting, also known as Whidbey Island Quakers, hold weekly worship services every Sunday from 4 to 5 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist building, located at 20103 Highway 525, about two miles north of Freeland.

This time of silent worship may include spoken messages or sharing of spiritual journeys.

An additional time of singing is held at 3:30 p.m. before the worship service on the first Sunday of each month.

As Margaret Fell, a 17th century Quaker wrote: “We are a people that follow after those things that make for peace, love, and unity; it is our desire that others’ feet may walk in the same.”
