Auditions set for murderously funny play at Whidbey Playhouse
May 4, 2012 · Updated 2:27 PM
Audition for “Murder at the Howard Johnson’s” are from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Monday, May 7 and Tuesday, May 8 at the Whidbey Playhouse, located at 730 SE Midway Blvd., Oak Harbor.
“Murder at the Howard Johnson’s,” directed by Stan Thomas, is an uproariously funny look at what happens when three inept individuals try to murder one another.
At the beginning, bored, pampered housewife Arlene and her dentist lover Mitchell meet at Howard Johnson’s to kill Paul, her husband. In the second act, Paul and his estranged wife meet at Howard Johnson’s in order to snuff out Mitchell, and in the last act, Paul and Mitchell meet to do away with Arlene.
Bring bios to the auditions. There will be cold readings from the script.
The play will open July 12 and run for two weekends. Rehearsals begin the week of May 20, three times a week.
