Volunteers sought for Admiralty Head Lighthouse docents, guides
April 3, 2012 · Updated 2:00 PM
The Washington State University Admiralty Head Lighthouse Program is currently looking for new volunteers to serve as docents, gift shop staff and tour guides at Fort Casey.
The venerable, historic lighthouse is located at Fort Casey State Park next to the Coupeville ferry terminal.
No experience is necessary. If you enjoy talking with people from all over the world and helping visitors enjoy Whidbey Island and learn about the history of the lighthouse and fort, then this is the job for you.
Docent training will be held this spring and is conducted through WSU Island County Extension.
For more information, contact program coordinator Julie Pigott at admiraltyheadlighthouse@gmail.com or call 240-5584 or 360-321-5111 ext. 5540.
