EMILY BAIN, a senior at Oak Harbor High School, was one of over 240 outstanding high school students, representing 17 states, to participate in a Northwestern College Scholarship Day.
Students participated in interviews and a writing competition throughout January and February. Northwestern College faculty, staff and students evaluated them on the basis of their potential for academic success, leadership and effective Christian service.
The participating students have already qualified for Northwestern College honor scholarships, based on ACT score and class rank or grade point average, and were competing for additional funding to their Presidential or Collegiate scholarships. The top eight Presidential Scholarship winners will be designated Norman Vincent Peale Scholars and receive $72,000 over four years of study at Northwestern.
Northwestern College is a Christian college in Orange City, Iowa.
