Blood drive has online option in Coupeville
January 6, 2012 · Updated 3:35 PM
Donate blood Thursday, Jan. 19, at the Coupeville United Methodist Church, 608 N. Main St., between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m.
Online reservations can now be made. The Coupeville Lions Club has been working with the Puget Sound Blood Center to improve the donor experience and to reduce wait times. An online reservation system has been implemented to allow donors to better plan their day. To make an appointment, go to www.psbc.org/programs/drive.asp?URL=0677.
Walk-ins are still welcome but appointments will have priority. If you donated on or before Nov. 24, 2011, you are eligible to donate again.
Thank you to all the wonderful blood donors that came out to donate during the last drive, Nov. 10, at the United Methodist Church in Coupeville. There were 102 donors registered, 88 pints of blood collected and nine first-time donors in another amazing turnout. Because one pint of blood can save three lives, Coupeville’s blood drive helped the lives of 264 patients in hospitals throughout Western Washington.
Forty Lions, including some from the Central Whidbey Lions Club, helped with the last drive. For information, contact Paddy Roberts, 678-8746 or patbill@rapidwifi.com.
