Oak Harbor’s Candlewood Suites was ranked number five for customer satisfaction out of 312 hotels in that chain, said Pamela Estes, the hotel’s general manager this week.

The hotel won the award for the year ended July 1 but only recently received the news, she said.

“Our hotel was one of the first in this chain, built in 2008. We’re not a shiny bauble,” Estes said. “So for guests to rate us so high is a big deal.”
