Coupeville consignment shop thriving

Coupeville business owners Kimberlly and Thomas Hoctor celebrated the grand opening of their second Front Street business last week.

Posh Upscale Resale, one of Coupeville’s newest businesses located inside Mariner’s Court, offers high-end clothing and accessory consignment for both men and women.

Specializing in seasonal contemporary clothing – with a limited selection of vintage and couture designer pieces – Posh Upscale Resale offers a variety of sizes ranging from petite to plus and tall.

Kimberlly Hoctor said since opening the store in November, the number of consigners from all over Whidbey Island has increased steadily.

They celebrated their success Thursday with an official ribbon cutting and promotional sales throughout the weekend.

This is the Hoctor’s second consignment shop. They also own the Handbag Consignment shop, which sells designer handbags.

The Hoctors said they saw an opportunity to bring an upscale consignment shop to Central Whidbey that not only caters to women, but also offers a place where men could shop and consign.

“Through positive feedback from our consigners at the Handbag Consignment Shop, they encouraged us to open a clothing component to our consignment store,” Hoctor said. “After a year of contemplation and planning, we knew that this was the right direction for us to go.

“Additionally, we saw that there was really no place on Whidbey for men to shop, so we knew that men’s consignment needed to a part of our shop and we have dedicated at least of half of our shop to men’s section.”

There are plans in the works to expand the men’s section even further in the shop.
