"Country club to hold open houseWhidbey Golf and Country Club will be hosting an open house on Sunday afternoon, Dec. 3 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Light refreshments will be served. Tours of the clubhouse and its facilities will be offered to those wishing to familiarize themselves with the clubhouse and the benefits of membership. Casual dress is welcomed. Both Getting to Know your Customer and The Art of Satisfying the Customer took place in the chamber's visitor center conference room. Participants received information to help improve customer and employee relations. Bailey & Associates, based in Oak Harbor, provides customized programs, seminars and coaching in the areas of customer relations, team building, leadership and personal development. Bailey is a member of the National Speakers Association and has spoken to audiences local, national and international. The Greater Oak Harbor Chamber of Commerce plans to continue sponsoring topical seminars for the business community. Call the Chamber office at 675-3755 Learn to make wreaths at Greenhouse NurseryThe Greenhouse Florist and Nursery in Oak Harbor is hosting a free seminar on making wreaths from scratch or revamping old wreaths on Nov. 18, from noon to 2 p.m. Wreaths and wreath-making materials will be available for sale.Then on Nov. 25, the Greenhouse is holding another free seminar on bow making. Participants will learn to make bows using double layers, raffia and more. Many styles of ribbon will be on sale by the yard.For reservations call the Greenhouse at 675-6668. "
