Increasing social security benefits

“Keeping the Social Security Promise” will be the topic of Executive Director John R Burbank’s speech on Sunday, May 15, from 2 to 4 p.m. in Hayes Hall conference room at the Whidbey Island Campus of Skagit Valley College in Oak Harbor.
Burbank will discuss “why we need to increase Social Security benefits and how it can be done.”
Burbank is the executive director of the Economic Opportunity Institute. Before founding EOI, he was a project manager of the Sand Point Community Housing Association, political director of the Washington State Labor Council, staff coordinator for the Washington State Senate, and director for the Community Labor Coalition in Rhode Island. The public is invited.
The program is sponsored by the Whidbey Island Democratic Club.
